Calling all mountain dads – we hope that you can join us, as together we make memories that will last a lifetime.
Mountain Dad is for adventurous dads (and father figures) with adventurous kids. It offers a chance to spend time with your children (aged 8+) in a group with other dads & their children. You can, together take on the challenge of hiking to the peak of Cader Idris in the beautiful Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, before relaxing back at the Min y Don centre on the Mawddach Estuary. Mountain Dad was conceived by Care for the Family’s Who Let The Dads Out? project and we are delighted to be able to run Mountain Dad in partnership with Care for the Family. We worked with WLTDO? in 2016 as Mountain Dad ventured up Snowdon, Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Slieve Donard.
Spend the whole weekend together, giving you time to relax and enjoy your time away. You can arrive from 6pm on Friday. There will be a ‘lite buffet’, as well as refreshments. Depending on your arrival time, there will be an activity or game that you can take part in during the evening. On Saturday there will be a cooked breakfast, and you can make a packed lunch. Then out on the mountain for the day, returning back to the centre for a cooked evening meal, and time around the campfire (weather permitting). On Sunday, after breakfast you can choose one of the adventure activities on offer and then depart after lunch.
