As much as we enjoy life at Min y Don, in recent years we have appreciated opportunities to get out and about – for us to meet people and for people to come and see what we do. For many years, Min y Don has hosted Family ‘Open Days’ for those in the local area.
Tywyn Baptist Church
Tywyn Baptist Church has been our home church for many years, and Min y Don staff are involved with the Youth Groups, Junior Church, Preaching and the Music Group.
Fridays in term time 5.45pm until 7pm for juniors (year 3 to year 6). This includes loads of fun and games, Bible teaching and occasional trips out. Each summer there is also a ‘mini-Ultimate Adventure’ weekend away at Min y Don. For the last couple of years, we have also run a holiday club for this age group in the Easter holidays.
OYES! Youth Group
Fridays in term time 7.30 until 9pm (8.30pm for those not staying on for the ‘best bit’) for high schoolers (year 7 to year 9). Expect table tennis, pool, air hockey, food (essential!), Nintendo Wii, art and craft, darts and films. We also have outings and fun themed evenings. During the last half hour there is a Christian message (the ‘best bit’) that we invite youth to stay on for if they want to. Each summer members of this group are invited to attend a range of different summer camps. In recent years we have taken groups to Soul Survivor, MCYC and The Ultimate Adventure at Min y Don.
OYES! Extra Time
Every other Sunday evening in term time for youth in year 9 to year 12. This is a chance to meet with friends and dig a little deeper into the Christian message shared on a Friday night. Each year a group of our youth attend a Christian event – in the past this has been Soul Survivor, which has been lots of fun and a real encouragement to them.
Junior Church on a Sunday
There are Sunday School classes for three age groups. Many Min y Don staff either run or assist with these.
Many staff enjoy playing in the band, practising on a Thursday, and playing or helping with the tech.
